Welcome to Kingdom Kids

Here at First Lyman, we love kids! Our hope is that we can impact each child as we walk with them, bringing them up under the truth that God made them, created them for a purpose, and loves them more than they will ever know.

Our promise to each family is we will maintain a safe, fun, and loving environment for each child to learn, grow, and develop under biblical teaching as they grow into their full potential. Not only do we want the kids to walk away with a full understanding of who they are in Christ, but allow parents to walk away knowing the safety of their children was our top priority and that they were loved and cared for by our amazing volunteers and staff.

We believe that our children are not the church of tomorrow but the church of today. The discipleship of our children is of the same value and importance as the discipleship of our adults who worship with us. Every life is valuable to God and therefore every life is valuable to us. We are looking forward to meeting you and growing with you and your family.

Kids Groups

Nursery 1 and 2

Our nursery provides loving care for infants and toddlers up to 4 years of age while parents are in worship and life groups. We want each child to go away knowing God made them, loves them, and takes care of them.

Foundations (3-5 Years)

This group is for those that haven’t entered school but are busy and full of energy. This is a pivotal age and we don’t take that lightly. With tailored bible lessons, stories, and worship time, each child will be prepared for the next step in their journey.

Pathfinders (1st-3rd Grade)

As children enter elementary school, we want to rise to meet their ever expanding minds and present them the truth of Gospel. With more detailed Bible stories and activities, stories they learned at young age will come alive and propel them to understand better what Jesus did for them.

Voyagers (4th-6th Grade)

Before entering youth, our Voyagers establish the ground work for becoming a teenager with priorities like walking in our faith, being like Christ to those around us, and being an example.

Your First Visit

From the moment you park, you’ll notice lots of friendly faces eager to help you along.

Your first stop is the kid’s check-in area. We want to serve you and your child well, so we’ll take some time to get to know you. We’ll ask about allergies, make sure we know what your child likes to be called, and collect your information. Please have a current email address, phone number, address, and general information about your child(ren).

Then, you and your child(ren) will get a sticker with a matching code. If for any reason we need to reach you during the gathering, you’ll see your kid’s code in the lower corner of the screen. This sticker is also what you’ll use to pick-up your child after gathering.

FOR THE SAFETY OF YOUR CHILDREN, ONLY ADULTS 18 YEARS AND OLDER AND WITH A TAG THAT MATCHES THAT OF THE CHILD WILL BE ALLOWED TO PICK UP CHILDREN FROM KINGDOM KIDS. THANK YOU FOR HELPING US KEEP YOUR CHILD(REN) SAFE!

Frequently Asked Questions

What time does kids check-in begin?

Check-in begins at 9:15am. We will not begin check-in until that time as our volunteers and staff are preparing up to that point. Once your child(ren) is checked in, they will remain with our volunteers until a parent picks them up.

Do I need to bring anything for my child?

For elementary aged children, everything they will need will be provided for them. For nursery and toddler aged children, we will take any diaper bags or items needed to care for your child(ren).

My child has special needs. What do I need to do?

At check-in, let our staff and volunteers know of any particular needs they must be aware of. We want every child to feel comfortable and cared for and every parent to feel confident their child(ren) is taken care of.

How can I engage with my child after their Kids Church and Sunday School?

After every kids’ worship time and Life Groups, there will be materials that go home with each child that will help create conversation about what they learned that day. We encourage every parent to reinforce each lesson with their child(ren) in order to promote faith-based discussions. There are also monthly letters that are distributed that have discussion starters and overviews of learning outcomes for the month. If you would like to be added to receive one of those, email us!

My child accepted Christ. Is there someone I can talk to?

First off, PRAISE GOD! Second, yes there is! Our Children’s Director, volunteers, or anyone on our staff would love to talk with you and your child about their decision. We want to take the necessary steps to ensure your child fully understands and help them take the next step in baptism.

How can I get involved in Kingdom Kids?

Feeling called to Kids Ministry? Awesome! We would love to get you plugged in. Reach out to our Children’s Director and they can get you plugged in.
