Welcome to the J.O.Y. CLUB
J.O.Y. Club is Senior Adults at First Lyman who are Just Older Youth who are full of life, who love Jesus, and who enjoy sharing Christ together with love and joy.
We have more years behind us than in front of us, but we still lead others by example, showing what God has done and is doing in our lives.
Don't count us out, but count us all in! If you have an AARP card and get senior discounts, come join us and see what J.O.Y. Club is all about!

Strawberry Hill Trip
Who doesn’t love a good breakfast with friends? Join us for our short trip up to Strawberry Hill, USA for a great breakfast and time spent with friends. You are welcome to ride or drive separately. Cost is your own breakfast. Walking: Normal

Lake Lure Trip
We will travel to the beautiful Lake Lure in North Carolina to take in the amazing views and take a historical boat ride over the river. Lunch will be provided. Cost per person is $75 (includes travel, boat ride, and lunch). $10 deposit due May 1st. Total due June 1st. Walking: Light

BBQ Cookout
It’s summer time and you know what that means…BBQ! We will provide the meat and drinks and ask that you bring a side or dessert to share. This is a great opportunity to bring friends to check out what JOY Club is all about.

As summer comes to a close, we will gather together for a fish fry. Like the BBQ Cookout, we ask that you bring a side or dessert and we will provide the fish, hushpuppies, and drinks.

Apple Festival
We will travel to Hendersonville, NC for the Annual Apple Festival. Cost per person is $15 paid by August 19th. Lunch is on your own. There are many vendors and restaurants to choose from at the festival. Walking: Moderate

Buffet and Buc-ee’s
We’re Baptists…we love good food and a gas station the size of a Wal-Mart! We will travel to a fan favorite buffet in Knoxville, Austin’s Steakhouse, and on the way we will stop at Buc-ee’s to shop. Total is $35, with $10 deposit due September 30th. Total due on October 14th. Walking: Normal

Blue Ocean Dinner
We will take a short trip to the famous Blue Ocean Seafood Restaurant for a great meal and even better fellowship. Cost for this trip is your meal. Walking: Normal

NarroWay Theater
We will travel to Fort Mill to experience “The Real Christmas Story” at NarroWay Theater. This is an immersive dinner theater experience. The meal is a traditional Christmas Dinner of baked turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, green beans, rolls, and dessert. Cost for this trip is $60, with deposit of $15 due September 1st. Total due on November 15th. Walking: Normal

Join us for our 3rd Annual Pancake Breakfast. This is a Christmas breakfast where we will have a full menu of breakfast favorites and introduce exciting trips already in the works for 2025 and beyond!
