Centennial Celebration Sunday
You are invited to our Centennial Celebration Sunday! Through the month of June and July, we have looked back on all God has done in and through First Lyman. We will celebrate all of that and what God is GOING to do in the next 100 years in First Lyman.
Join us for Worship at 9:30, with special guest Dr. Gene Fant, President of North Greenville University. Following worship, we will gather together for a celebration dinner on the grounds. We look forward to the future of First Lyman but there is one thing we need…YOU! Join us for this amazing celebration!!
Lyman Summer Bash
Join us for our 2nd Annual Lyman Summer Bash! This years bash will host inflatables for the kids, a cruise in, Kona Icee’s, Touch-A-Truck, and many more fun activities. BBQ and Hotdog sales will be available as well. You will not want to miss this fun event!
JOY Fish Fry
As summer comes to a close, we will gather together for a fish fry. Like the BBQ Cookout, we ask that you bring a side or dessert and we will provide the fish, hushpuppies, and drinks.
JOY JAARS Visit
We will board the bus at 8:00am and travel to Waxhaw N.C. to visit JAARS, Jungle Aviation and Relay Service, where we will tour the facility and learn how they are presenting God’s
Word throughout the world. We will have lunch in their facility before we board the bus return to Lyman around 4:00pm.
Note: we will make a short SWEET STOP.
The cost for this trip is $20 which includes travel and lunch. Your money must be paid to Allison by September 1st.
JOY Buffet and Buc-ee’s
We’re Baptists…we love good food and a gas station the size of a Wal-Mart! We will travel to a fan favorite buffet in Knoxville, Austin’s Steakhouse, and on the way we will stop at Buc-ee’s to shop. Total is $35, with $10 deposit due September 30th. Total on October 14th. Walking: Normal
JOY Blue Ocean Dinner
We will take a short trip to the famous Blue Ocean Seafood Restaurant for a great meal and even better fellowship. Cost for this trip is your meal. Walking: Normal
JOY NarroWay Theater
We will travel to Fort Mill to experience “The Real Christmas Story” at NarroWay Theater. This is an immersive dinner theater experience. The meal is a traditional Christmas Dinner of baked turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, green beans, rolls, and dessert. Cost for this trip is $60, with deposit of $15 due September 1st. JOY Pancake Breakfast
Join us for our 3rd Annual Pancake Breakfast. This is a Christmas breakfast where we will have a full menu of breakfast favorites and introduce exciting trips already in the works for 2025 and beyond!
Ladies Fitness Class
Open to ages 13 and up. Mondays and Thursdays in the gym. Come join us for a quiet, relaxing, stretching, and strengthening time with friends. Bring an exercise mat and strap. Childcare is NOT available at this time.

An extension of the JOY Club, the JOY Choir is made up of our senior adults who love to sing and make a joyful noise to the Lord. We take time each week to practice and travel around to local ministries to sing and share good fellowship. Snacks and coffee are provided. Meet in the Choir Room (see map).

Sunday Morning Worship
This is a special Centennial Celebration Sunday where we will look back at the years 2001-2023 in our church history. We will worship the Lord through song and the Word as well as look back at the Lord’s faithfulness in those years of First Lyman. Worship will be led by our former Worship Pastor and Pastor of Senior Adults, Jim Carey, who served many of the years we will observe this Sunday!
JOY BBQ Cookout
It’s summer time and you know what that means…BBQ! We will provide the meat and drinks and ask that you bring a side or dessert to share. This is a great opportunity to bring friends to check out what JOY Club is all about.

Family Mission Trip
Take part in our Family Mission Trip, June 26 - 28, 2024. We will be working with Resort Area Ministries in Boone, NC. We need people to work in their Thrift Shop and to work on construction projects. Sign up on Sunday Morning, in our Cafe Area or contact the church office.

Youth Home Mission Week
Our Youth Home Mission Week is a week full of activities, mission work, local service projects, and a fun time had…right here at home. And at the end of the week, we will travel to the Shores of Asbury in Anderson for a floating water inflatable park. If you would like to signup or have questions, email Joey Bodie.

Vacation Bible School
We are so excited for this years VBS, The Great Jungle Cruise!! This years VBS will be June 9th-13th from 6:00-8:30 PM each night. We will have a special celebration on the last night in our Family Life Center.
